The problem

Most houses that won't cool don't need a new system.

They need a duct, a coil, or a charge. But a new system is the biggest ticket a company can write, so that is what a lot of houses get quoted.

The attic, not the unit

A Valley attic hits 140 degrees in August. A leaking duct up there throws away a third of the air you are paying to cool.

Airflow, not refrigerant

A dirty evaporator coil chokes airflow and freezes up. A good share of the low-on-freon calls we get sent to are really just this.

The room without the thermostat

If one room never cools, the system is usually fine and the duct feeding that room is not. That is a cheap fix nobody offers.

The difference

Six checks before anyone says "you need a new unit."

Most houses in the Valley that won't cool don't need a new system. They need a duct, a coil, or a charge. Scroll through the sequence we actually run, and watch what it does to the temperature inside.

1

Measure the split

A thermometer in the supply vent and one in the return. The difference between them tells us more in two minutes than any sales pitch does in an hour.

2

The duct in your attic

A Valley attic hits 140 degrees in August. A duct leaking up there throws away a third of the air you're paying to cool, and you feel it as "the back rooms never get cold."

3

The evaporator coil

A dirty coil chokes airflow and freezes up. A good share of the "you're low on freon" calls we get sent to are really just this, and it's a cleaning, not a system.

4

Refrigerant to spec

Weighed in against the plate on your unit, not guessed by feel. Overcharging kills a compressor as fast as running it low does.

5

Seal the return

A leaking return pulls 140 degree attic air straight into the system. You are paying to cool your attic and wondering why the bill went up.

6

72 in every room

Not just the room with the thermostat in it. We check each supply before we leave and we show you the numbers on the way out.

What happens next

Three steps, and the first one is free.

01

You tell us which room

Which room will not cool, and what the thermostat says versus what it feels like. That narrows it before we pull up.

02

We take the readings

Supply and return temperatures, static pressure, and the charge against the plate on your unit. You see every number.

03

You decide

If it is a repair we quote the repair. If the math really says replace, we show you the math first.

What people say

214 reviews, and the ones about the second opinion matter most.

Another company quoted me a whole new system. These guys cleaned the coil and it has run fine for two summers.

Called at eleven at night in August with a house full of family. Someone actually answered and came out.

Marisol V.Los Fresnos

Showed my husband the readings on the meter and explained what each one meant. Nobody had ever done that.

Tell us which room won't cool.

That one detail usually tells us whether it is the unit, the duct, or the return before we ever pull up.
